Ford 9 inch Disc Conversion
HI,
This is my first visit and post here. Greetings to everyone!!! I have a 1959 small bearing, Ford 9 inch rear end (2 dimples on rear housing) that I am planning on narrowing for a project. When I pulled the drums off, they were severely pitted and unfit for further use. Considering the cost of new drums, I was thinking of going to a rear disc conversion. There are many adapter bracket kits and complete assemblies to chose from. Has anyone gone through this decision process ? What choices did you make? I can get my parts locally at wholesale prices but I don't know whose brackets or what caliper to use or what disc to get. This rear end will be going into a Mopar and the car will have the 9 inch rear and a mustang IFS(aftermarket). I want to keep it to the Ford bolt pattern. I currently have a restricted budget and wish to get it done with the least cost but quality as well. Thanks in advance for any advice and recipes and tips. Pony |
