Default Ford Fusion ABS Brake Problem

I bought a 2009 Used Ford Fusion in June of 2010 and everything was fine till it started snowing and roads got slippery.

Anytime I press the brake pedal on slippery roads the brake pedal feels like its running over a bunch of rumble strips and I can hear the brakes making noise like they are going to fall apart. This is no minor brake pedal shaking this is like a earthquake 10.0.

Now the dealer yesterday is telling me this is a normal thing with Fords ABS system and just how it is. I do not believe them and they just don't want to fix it.

I can not believe they would design a car with this kind of a major defect in the brakes. Sure the car does stop but I should not have to put up with the brake pedal violently trying to rip my foot off.

Some help on what I should do or is this really normal.

I did buy the 3 year 36k mile warranty package they had for the care and I just do not think they want to fix it. And they told me even on the new ford cars they all do same thing which is absurd to me.

If you are pressing on the brake pedal a little too hard on slippery roads, the ABS will engage and give you that feeling. It is not considered a normal experience for it to do it all the time. If you can try to stop a little easier a couple of times and see what it does. Just remember the slick roads are just that, slick, The ABS is trying to make all the wheels turn at the same speed so you can steer the vehicle.
