im from the uk and ive got a '92 escort but i am having problems opening my fuel cap! i think it may be because i have let the tank run low and it has become pressurised. theres less than a quarter left and i need to refill can anyone help?!?!?

 

The amount of fuel should have nothing to do about that, is the cap plastic or metal?
