Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Hello All, new here to the forum and brought my project nightmare with me. I have swapped a '88 Crown Vic 5.0 EFI into a '93 Ranger, engine has been rebuilt and installed and most everything has been replaced with new. I'm in the process of trying to start the engine, timing is on target, all wiring is complete and all fluids are in.....when I go to start it the engine turns strong but no fire, after continued tries found out that fuel wasn't getting past the fuel pressure regulator, in fact when I went to remove the fuel line at the rail to see if I was getting fuel it came apart with a lot of pressure release and gas everywhere. (Fuel pressure regulator) one of the few things I did not change! Could the regulator have gone bad while I was rebuilding? The Crown ran prior to me yankin her guts out? Is there enough vacuum just turning the engine over to activate the FPR?

I'm sorry for such a long post......it's just that I have longed for a year to fire this bad boy up and I'm so close!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help, Mike.

RE: Fuel Pressure Regulator?

are you sure the 93 Ranger's fuel pump can supply the required pressure? s it possible you have the lines reversed?
