Im thinking about purchasing an ODB-II interface for my laptop to use at home...

I dont want to drop a bunch of money on a scanner but rather use my laptop and a cheap USB ODB-II..

has anyone done this? what software is available? any recommendation for an inexpensive one?

From what is reads, that is a good introductory product. I do not know how it will work though. I have never dealt with that brand. But for that price, id=f it does not work, you have not lost too much.
