keyless entry help

I just bought a 99 Crown vic and need to program the keyless entry. The book says to enter the factory code setting and then I will be able to enter my on code. Only problem is that the previos owner does not know the code from the factory nor do I have any paperswith it on it. Any help or suggestions....

if you go to the dealer they can hook up the wds or ids and give you the code when i worked at the ford dealer we would usually do it for free just to keep a customer

The code should be taped to the computor module. At one time, there should have been a card in the glove-box with that code. Probably long gone. That's what it said in the owners manual.
