Lighter trouble - Fiesta 04

Hiya, I'm new to the site so I apologise inadvance if I have put this in the wrong forum.

I have a ford fiesta 04 plate and my ciggy lighter has broken. It was working but I dropped something in there and since its not worked. My dad thought maybe I'd blown the fuse so we tried to change it only to find there wasn't actually a fuse in there anyway and when we tried to fit one it wouldn't fit.

Has anybody else ever come across this? If so doe it run aong side another fuse or would you recommend just repl;acing the whole thing? If so where would it be connected?

I use my satnav quite alot so really need to get this sorted so all answers or help would be greatly accepted.

Thankyou in advance.

H :)

Welcome to the site..

If you dropped anything metallic into the lighter base, it most likely did pop the fuse. It would certainly be circuit protected by a fuse. I don't have access to the offshore built Fiesta information so I can't help with the specific fuse location. If you have the owners guide, it should list the fuse position/location and amp/color of the fuse.. Rarely would the lighter assembly need to be replaced because of being shorted out.

Power adapters come apart and short the socket, kids put coin change into them and blow the fuse. Pretty common...
