OD OFF light is flashing

Default OD OFF light is flashing

Hopefully someone can tell me whats going on...
I have a 97 Explorer and the OD *off* light began flashing and wont shut off. She shifts fine and when I depress the button on the shifter she will shift out of overdrive. Nothing seems to be wrong except for thye flashing anoying orange OD light on the dash! Help! THX!

This is usually a problem detected bytheTransmission Control Unit, which will store a code in the computer. You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to reset the ECU codes, which should make the dashlightstop flashing temporarily, but that won't correct the problem. If you take your Explorer to AutoZone, they'll check the codes for free, and this will hopefully pinpoint what's causing the malfunction.

Any updates I am having the same problem with my 2003 explorer. Trans is shifting normal and no slippage. I would almost thing it was trans temp indicator, however it is 15 degress outside. I have never towed with the vehicle.

CHECK YOUR SPEEDOMETER IF IT WORKS PROPERLY..AND IF ITS NOT REPAIR IT FIRST
