power window motor
I just installed a new window regulator on a '95 Crown Vic. The old one was shot. Now, when my window closes as it nears the top, the window slows down. I swapped the motor with another one on the car, but I got the same results. It appears that there is too much friction in the window channel. The new window regulator works smoothly.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks, chris |
RE: power window motor
try some silicon lubricant spray in the tracks for the window especially near the top of the tracks. also check the operation with the cover off the door so you can see if something is going into a bind and slowing things down. in my 88 Stang there is a central rod that the window rides on and this may be bent or out of alignment, just a thought, don't know if the newer ones are similar or not.

RE: power window motor
The window regulator that you installed had two 11mm nut at the top that fit on two studs that fit through slotted holes. Try loosening the nuts and operating the window. Adjust as neccessary.
