swapping motors

I have a 1988 Ford F150 2 wheel drive 4.9 litre standard transmission pickup. I also just purchased a 1992 Ford F150 2 wheel drive 4.9 litre automatic transmission. What I am finding is everything seems to be the same except the motor mounts. I am trying to find out if i can put the motor from the 1988 standard into the 1992 automatic. My Ford tech isn't sure and told me to go to a junk yard and ask them if it is comperable. Can anyone help me out. The motor in the 1992 has a lower end rap and the 1988 runs excellent. Help Please

They are the same. Might have to change electronics to the '92 on the '88.
