I have a 2007 Taurus that has an odor when I run the A/C. I had to have the condensor replaced about 6 months ago and it has been doing this ever since. Does any one know what may cause this, or do I need to take it back and and let them redo the job. Its coming out of my pocket so any help will be Greatly appreciated.

 

what is the odor? does it come only when the A/C is on?

 

If it's a musty/mold smell, that would be normal for most A/C systems. You can help eliminate the problem by placing your A/C on MAX and spraying your favorate smelling Lysol into the inside air intake under dash on the passenger side. Spray it heavy until you get a good heavy blast coming out of the vents. You want to get the evaporator saturated with the Lysol. Immediately shut the system down and let set over night. This will normally kill the oder critters for quite a while. repeat as needed. I do this in the evening when the vehicle will not be driven till the A.M.
