Default temperature control probs on '00 Ranger

Hello,
just wondering if anyone could help me on this problem? My '00 Ranger 3.0 Auto,4x4, w/air,& isflex fuel 's temperature control is not working. It's always hot hot. I've weeded out the switch itself by installing one off a different truck and I also replaced the heater control valve out under the hood. The air directions insideok but cannot be blended to cool. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thx

Sounds like a typical Ranger/Explorer blend door issue (Broken).

ok. So where is the broken door? I removed the glove box and there is a door to the right that is open when the control **** is set to the off position. Itthen closes when turned to any on postion. heat or ac. That door appears to be working ok. but i am not sure if it is the blend door.
Again thanks for your help and any tips you may have.

The blend door is inside the heater plenum. You can access the motor that drives the blend door by lowering the glove box, look on top of the heater box, the motor is white, maybe 3 inches square. You can pry this off, and with a mirror and flashlight see if the door is broken where the stem from the motor goes into it. It should be a hole basically square with one edge rounded a bit. If this area is not broken, you most likely have a badmotor that is stuck or not responding to the switch position.
