Timing adjustment zx2

Had to replace variable timing sensor on ZX2 2000. Cannot get vehicle to accelearate now, will run but has no pep. How do I get the initail setting correct on the new sensor? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. And also need to know if u had to pull the timing belt and cams to put in the sensor?
