Hi, just found the site after some friends told me about it! Anyway, to my question. I had an AOD tranny given to me. It's a two wheel drive model out of a car I believe. I have an '84 F150 4WD and with a C6 in it. Where the transfer case bolts up looks the same as where the tail housing bolts on the AOD. I figure I might have to change the output shaft to get the transfer case to bolt up. My question is this: will this swap work? If not will I have to find an AOD out of a 4WD? If so, will I even be able to swap the newer tranny in place of the C6? Obviously, I am looking to gain mileage as the truck has a gear ratio in the high 3's. I hear of Hot Rodders doing this swap all of the time, I'm just looking to make it work in my 4 wheeler. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!
