Transit 130 T300 2007 Model DEAD
 

Hi,

I have a Transit which is totally dead when turning the key.
NOTHING happens, its like the batteries are not in the car.
The batteries are fine and I have located where the problem MIGHT be..
In the control circuits area behind the plastic cover behind the batteries, there is a relay, a main fuse and some wires...when I cross-connect the red (+) cable (A) to the wiring (B) in the picture (please see picture) the car wakes up and everything is working.
I am wondering if the problem is the relay located as (C) in the picture.
There is a wiring diagram on the relay and it says "On" "OFF".

Do you think that the relay is the problem ? :confused:
Can someone explain the wiring diagram that is showing on the relay?
I understand it somewhat... but not completely.

The relay could be the problem, but the better thing to do would be to determine if any of the wires that plug into the bottom of the relay are energized when you turn on the ign switch. Also, if the relay is functioning, you should hear or feel it close/click , do you hear or feel it operate? What would be really helpful would be a schematic diagram of that system. Did you check if that relay is available from an aftermarket supplier or Ford?

Those darn basics keep popping up, it would be a good idea to check ALL the fuses because one of them could protect the circuit to energize that power relay.
In looking further on the diagram on the relay it appears when the key is on it pulls the plunger down so A is connected to B. Then in the off position current is fed in the opposite direction to make sure the relay opens. Maybe this was done to make sure the relay didn't hang up and drain the battery .

It was the relay, I bought a new one and everything woke up and worked :)
