Transmission questions

I have a 1972 Lincoln with a 460 and a C4 attached to it. I would like to add a AOD trans to it.
Anyone have some suggestions for me?

You positive that it's a C4. I thought the 460 got the C6 tranny. Anyways, you could look into using a first generation Ford AOD transmission. They were mechanical 4-Speed tranny's with electronic torque converter Lock-Up. Or you could just order an OD unit from Gear Vendors under/overdrive transmissions the most awarded auxiliary transmissions.

LOL It could very well be a C6. I have to get back out there and double check again. The gear vendor idea is a very good one but the cost is about the same either way.
I have not owned a Ford and kinda still haven't, its my wife's car. I'm just having fun building it up so I can build mine next. :D
