truck don't fire

Ford f150 4.2 liter year 2000
Was running just fine pulled in yard. Went back out to leave cranked for 5 seconds tried to crank again just turns over.. Changed the coil now it only gets fire on one side.
Don't feel it's fuel related fuel pump seems to kick on. Put starter fluid in it doesn't do anything when trying to crank.
When doing spark test, no spark on one side.

Still just turns over changed the spark plugs on the side that had no fire. Still just turns over.
We checked all the fuses all good. Checked rely switch good. Still same issue turns over no fire on one side, the side where the battery is if that helps

Where the dist used to be is now situated a cam sensor. See if you can get a look under the sensor assy cover for anything broken.

I am trying to locate the cam shaft sensor but can not find it. Can you give more information on where located.

Joey Franklin 09-27-2015 03:19 PM

Located the cam shaft sensor it is not broken. So now I am lost.

The PCM should be located on the passenger side interior of the vehicle. Make sure the plugs are all the way on . It won't hurt to unplug and reinstall each plug.
Don't know if this will help, but try removing the negative battery cable from the battery post and holding the removed cable end against the positive battery cable end for 15-20 seconds then reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
What do you get if you used the old coil ?

Same issue with old coil. Rechecked everything still same issue doing battery test now.

Joey Franklin 09-27-2015 05:16 PM
