Window scratches

So here is the deal, the seals on the window had the metal clips that were bent outward when I bought the truck and you can see the scratch marks from where the window was rolled up and down several times. I have since replaced the seals, but am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how to fix scratches in the glass so I don't have to just buy new windows. The scratches are fairly deep, too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Glass scratches are tricky..

'Some' can be polished out, generally just very fine scratches/scuffs. What happens on significant damaged areas,, if the glass is over sanded and polished it distorts the view looking through it.
The glass polish kits come with a few different 'wet sand' graduated discs,, and a rouge type polish applied with a polisher. Very important when sanding/polishing to not overheat the glass or it can shatter.

That said,, It's 'A LOT' of work and very messy to remove and polish only minor imperfections like fine scratches and wiper scuffs. I've done it on classic/date correct auto glass. Huge amount of work and time,,and if too deep and too many,, the results may not be what's desired. Plus the risk of breaking the glass if oversanded, over temp during either the scratch removal, or polishing. It's like polishing a rock..

So basically tough it out with the scratches until I can come across some good ones at a junk yard, eh? =D

Depending on application, aftermarket glass is an option..
