Windstar 6 Beeps on Startup
 

I have a 2001 Windstar that is making 6 beeps on startup. The horn no longer works, and I think my airbag may be having issues as well. The area on the steering wheel where the horn is had been fluffy, but is now flat and hard. The horn does not work. The airbag indicator light comes on and goes off normally at startup. The manual states that a problem with the airbag gives 5 beeps, but I've got one more than that. Anyone have any ideas?

I note that I wasn't too clear on my post; I am wondering if there might be a problem with airbag as well (that was the fluffy gone to flat part), or if it's simply the horn, or what the six beeps might indicate. Sorry for the confusing post, I haven't had my coffee yet.
