Windstar Anti theft light

Hi, can someone help please. I have a 2003 Windstar which I bought in Florida and had it shipped over to Spain where I live. The anti theft light comes on when the engine is hot and will not allow the starter to crank. When it's cold it starts first time. I can disconnect the battery overnight and the following morning it starts on the button. But when I drive it for 30 minutes, the anti theft comes on and the car will not crank over.
I've had the keys re-programmed but it's still the same. My question is, is the anti theft software stored in the ECU?If I bought a new ECU would that solve the problem?
Regards Chris (Barcelona)
