Default 2003 Explorer Exhaust Advice

Dear Forum,

I just got a 2003 Ford Explorer XLS and I want to give it an aggressive sound like a v8. I do not live in the states and an exhaust system is very expensive here. I was wondering if a straight pipe exhaust would be an option. I talked to a mechanic and told me to do it from the catalytic converter onward. It all sounds great especially since its cheap but is it worth it? Will it sound good?

If anyone has done it before on the same engine please send me a sound clip or something, i wanna know how it sounds before i give the thumbs-up for the install.

Thanks

I wouldnt straight pipe it, its hard to get a v6 to sound good, i would suggest getting a high flow cat, and a one chamber muffler, try a cherry bomb extreme, or a flowmaster 10 series, both the mufflers have an EXTREMELY AGRRESIVE sound, but if you keep your stock cat on, then your not doin much good

I didn't understand your answer, muffler is a device for reducing the amount of noise( not make sound loud or aggressive) emitted by the exhaust of an internal combustion engine. LoL!!!!
