2008 f150 in limp mode

I have a 2008 f150 4.6 v8 xlt with the 4R75E A/T transmission. Left my buddies house and the truck was in limp mode. No warning or anything. So i have read a few threads on here and tried several of the suggestions.
No engine light on
i don't have a code reader that can read transmission codes (yet)

Checked the fuses all good
So i replaced the tranny fluid as well as the dual shift solenoid it seemed to be weak when i was applying a voltage to it.
The other sensor tested ok i put air thru it as i was applying the voltage to make sure it opened and closed.
The only one i didn't try was the Automatic Transmission Control Solenoid

I replaced the tps sensor as well. i thought it was an 08 why not since that could have been a possible problem.
I see the 12volt at the connector into the transmission.
I reviewed the wiring harness as best as i can seen no broken wires.

where does the grounds for the solenoid come from?
Any input would be great
thanks in advance
