I have a big problem with my motorcraft 2150 carb (1.08 venturi) off a 1983 Ranger automatic trans with 2.8L engine. I removed last week only to find one of the mounting bolt hole ears or tangs was broken and a lot of red-ish gasket sealer on mounting gaskets to intake manifold. I can't find anyone interested in welding it back on. From all my research this last week, this carb was only used on 1983 and 1984 ranger and bronco 2's with a 2.8L engine. I do know the 2150 2 barrel came with different venturi sizes and was used on lots of ford vehicles.
Here's my question, could i use a 2150 with the same venturi size from a 302 or bigger engine as long as I swapped all internal / external parts, needles, jets, float, cluster etc?.....I can't seem to find a used carb for my year, make and model.
any body with 2150 knowledge that can help....Thank you
