C4 trans

Drive a 1979 ford ranger (F150) with a 302.
(Limited slip).Istead of the C4 trans i have now,should i go with the C6?

no real need to switch up to a C-6 unless you have highly modified the 302 to put out over 300+ HP, the C-4 is fine for what the stock motor can do and it is lighter than a C-6 also.

the c-6 won,t bolt up to your 302 ! the 302 is a small block and the c-6 transmission is made for a big block ! did you think about putting a shift kit in the c-4 ? a shift kit will make the transmission shift quicker !

I had a 77 F150 that had a 4.9 or 300 c.i.d. in it with a c6 tranny behind it and we all know that a 300 and a 302 has the same bolt pattern on the hogs head.
