Dome light, cargo light won't come on

Hello All,

I've been tracing out this problem and just can't get to the cause. I have no dome light, third brake light, or cargo lights. The lights in the door panel light up when opening the door so I don't think the door switches are the problem. Also when you turn the dome light switch on with the Headlight switch cluster I still get nothing. There is no power to the dome light wire at the lamp, but the other two lamps your switch on have power. I swapped the two relays in the fuse box with no luck and have checked all the fuses with no luck. Also all the lamps are just replaced
I don't want to just throw parts and money at the problem.

One note is I had my rear window replaced and wonder if they hit something during the replacement.

A wiring Diagram of the Dome light ect and how the wires get to the dome would be helpful as well.

Thank you,

Jeff

UUHHHHHH, year, make and model will help a lot with the diagrams. We have run into a lot of Fords with a wire broken close to the drivers door sill.

Thanks Way2Old,

Question you said you see alot of these with broken wires in the door posts, can you give me more info on that or any pics. I did take off the plastic cover on the floor near the door and saw some wires that came into the picture about half way on the floor or just about where the split door on the crew cab starts.

Thanks

Remove the sill plate on the drivers door and see if any water has collected over the years and corroded the wires. If you have an ohm meter, check the wiring from the light connector to the wiring going through the truck door sills. if there is continuity, go towards the fuse box. If there is no continuity, go toward the light fixture.
