Hi All,

moved up here a year ago, and last winter realized that I needed 4WD....yesterday I bought my first truck, a 2000 F-150 Lariat.

I also realized that I need a bigger garage...

Thanks for the welcome

Finally got the cover off the bed....the tale gate won't open (taking it back to the dealer, them fixing it is in the purchase agreement).....and there's a hole in the bed...

Kind of annoyed with that and mad at the dealer....couldn't see that when I was inspecting the truck.....

Any thoughts on fixing this issue? Or at least ensuring it doesn't get worse?

My company has one of these in there fleet and I am very suprised at how well it actually gets around! It's just the standard 4wd package, no lift and stock sized all terrain tires and it goes ANYWHERE that we point it, even in a foot of snow. My mom also drives a 99 with the 5.8l v8, every one tells her that it's the worse engine ford ever made but it has 250,000 miles on it and hasn't been cracked open once and believe me she has put it threw a lot of abuse! 21,000 mile oil change couldn't even stop that thing! I am a big believer of the triton engines

When well maintained I found those older engines delivered good service and able to take some pretty tough times and always came through.
