Hello to all,

I joined this forum as I was recently given a well optioned, low mile 1996 Crown Vic with low miles - the bad news is it needs a new motor. I'm a junior in high school and I don't have my intermediate license yet anyway so for now I am working on it at weekends. So far I am very happy with the project...

Whats the reason for the new engine?

 

Was making a horrible grinding/milling sound - I pulled off a valve cover and it's full of shards, the source of which I don't know. I could probably rebuild it but given the classes I take I simply don't have time, and I am thinking that a junkyard engine swap will save money and energy.
