ok i got an 05 mountaineer and im trying to program a new remote.i can get the truck to go into program mode but when i hit the button on the remote to program it it doesnt trigger the door locks and program the remote can someone throw me an idea.

 

This might be a stupid answer, but is the new remote battery good? Are you trying to get it done in the allotted amount of time? I think you only have 10 seconds to complete it.

 

1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN.
Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.
2. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to
confirm programming.
3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle
again to confirm programming.
4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
