Need help with an electrical issue on a F150.
My 06 F150 is losing its charge and the alt meter is down to 0, shortly after I recharge my battery. The alt has been replaced and also the battery. I thought it was just a bad alt, and then also I went ahead and replaced the battery, but it only runs until the battery loses its charge then dies. I have had both alts checked and they are both checking out fine. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

Not sure if your PCM controls your alternator output , but there is one thing you can check if you have not done so.
On the driver's side fender well, under the hood , there is a junction where the alternator output wire that goes across the front of the engine compartment over the radiator to that junction. You might want to check the quality of that hot side connection. They have been known to corrode and give false signals to the voltage regulation circuit. |
If the alternator is charging you should have 13.6 volts or higher at the battery. Make sure the belt is in good shape they can be decieving
