Default NEW MEMBER , BACK IN A RANGER!!!

First post here, and I just got my new 2005 ranger s/c edge. My last vehicle was a honda c r v which I did enjoy but.... I needed a tow vehicle for my 24' travel camping trailer. I owned a 2003 ranger fx4 and I'm glad to be back !

Maybe??? MY TRAILER WEIGHT IS 3800LBS DRY, ADD 400-500LBS for items . Ranger is rated 5500+ . I'm sure a f150 would do a much better job of towing. I used my ranger last weeked to go camping ,about 120 miles round trip, just for a test run. The rangers 4.0 does work hard . I tried to maintain 55-60mph . On hills the engine highest rpm was around 3200 rpm.

that is going to kill your transmission its not meant to pull a 24 foot trailer and it will never last pulling 5500 pounds around

Did the Ranger come with a towing package? If not its a very good idea to add a transmission oil cooler.
