New member just bought 2004 Focus ZTS
 

Hello everyone,
I actually bought this car for my daughter but am tinkering with it before I give it to her.
It has a check engine light giving code P2004 which I have to fix before the car can be registered.
If any other member has a 2004 Ford Focus ZTS or other model with the 2.3L PZEV engine, I'd love to look at a photo of your engine to compare it with mine.

If you type in on google, Ford code P2004, there is a nice U Tube video, approx 13 minutes long, that explains the whole thing..

I've already watched all the videos on Youtube about the Ford Focus.
None of them really explain how to zero in on the exact cause.
The P2004 code can have many different causes.
And as I said, I have never seen a Ford Focus with an intake/vacuum system the same as mine.
The video you referred to is a different system to mine.
I believe mine is California-specific.
Ford parts lists don't even show it.

The individual parts may not be identical , but the theory of how they work and where the pieces are should provide some insight as to what you might check.
