Hello....New to the forum. Figured out how to say 'Hello'! I did post yesterday after joining.

I'm hoping this forum will help me with a few answers but I'm skeptical now that I've spent a couple of hours researching the forum. From what I see the members ask for help or answers to a question and most times no one responds or may chime in with 'me to'. I see very few threads with more than a response or two and almost none with a solution. The dates on some of the thread headers are weeks and months old. Is this forum so small in member numbers that we ask for help and almost no one responds? Does anyone know how many members there are on this forum? How many posts a day? How many respond with " Thanks for the help, I found my problem" answers.

I hope this is not negative sounding and it's just my ignorance in how to navigate the forum. It is a little different than the other similar forums I'm a member of. Time will help I'm sure.

I just bought a 2004 Freestar and from what I read on the net I'm in for an amusing (to say the least) time. So .... help me out here folks. I'll be on from time to time. Meanwhile I understand that Ford Recall 11S25 will put a new Torque Converter in our Freestar's and Monterey's free of charge. My dealer has my name on his list.

Hello, I used to live in Virginia, and now do transmission work in Colorado. As for the recall, it applies only to the AX4N transmission (NOT the cvt). I've written to Ford to ask if this recall applies only to affected cars (which won't move), or if it's for all of them, as the recall isn't quite to clear. I've yet to hear back. However, there is a reimbursement program if you've already had the torque convertor replaced due to this malfunction. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.
One thing to keep in mind; this is NOT one of ford's better transmissions, and the T/C is only supposed to remedy cars that don't move. If the gearbox burned up and needed to be overhauled, I don't think it'll cover that.
