Rear hatch stuck
 

Help! My daughter went to the drive in and couldn't get the dome light to turn off in our 2001 ford excursion so she manually locked the rear hatch and then couldn't get the lock to release when she was ready to leave. Now the back top hatch door won't shut because it is locked open. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
