spark plug stuck
 

I have an F-150, 2001, 4.6 litre, V8. I changed all my coil's and spark plug's but I can't get one last spark plug out. I am affraid if I try to hard I will snap it off! Dose anyone know of a way to get it out? Thank's:confused:

Spray penetrating oil down into the spark plug hole, and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour.

Attempt removal of plug when engine is cold. Use a spark plug socket with protector insert, a long handled ratchet for good even torque, and apply even pressure upon removal attempt.

You want to keep the ratchet, extension, and socket straght up and down over the plug to combat the plug breaking. So avoid the use of flex head ratchet, swivels, etc.. Even tighten the plug first a little, and back off easy. Once broke free, work the plug out by alternating counterclockwise, and clockwise turns to combat the possibility of thread strip.

If plug does not break free repeat penetrating oil applications. Use real penetrating oil, not WD-40.

If the porcelain breaks, and the plug is broken into two, no worries, the main metal body of the plug with the socket lands will remain. However, its gotta' come out now. What you don't want is a seven cylinder engine. Use a magnet probe, or long needle nose to retrieve half a plug from the hole if it doesn't stay on the socket.

Unless the engine has been severely over-heated the plug should come out.

If things really go south, and the plug comes out with damage to the threads in the head, here is a link to a possible fix.

spray around it with PB blaster and let it sit for awhile ! when you start to remove it try tightening it some then loosen it !
