transmission fluid question

After checking my transmission fluid, I found that it is black, does anyone know what causes that? Thank you.

Sounds like it is burnt. Does it smell odd too?

I think you should have the fluid and filter changed. if it's any other color than red or pink it's burned and tells me that some of the clutch packs are worn out.
