Using the F-150 Hybrid to power my house...

Quick question: I just bought the F-150 Hybrid with the 7.2 generator. I currently have wired into my home fuse panel a separate 30Amp breaker that goes to an outside 220plug. I have been using a standalone generator to power the house during outages thru this setup and it works great. I was hoping to be able to accomplish the same thing using the Hybrid generator. I purchased a 25' generator cabler. I then plug that into the generator cable that attaches to the external 220 plug. I then turn off the main fuse and turn off all the individual breakers, and then turn on the 30Amp breaker. All good so far... As soon as I turn on any individual breaker, the truck throws up a ground fault interrupt.

I spoke to my electrician, and he said it is because the generator on the truck is not grounded to the earth because of the tires. He suggested a grounding pole and then grounding the truck. Does that make sense? Has anyone else had an issue like this?

I appreciate the help!

If the gent is a qualified electrician, he should know .
Try it and see if it takes care of the problem.

How much gasoline storage is required to run the truck for all those hours? Does Ford have an answer for that question?
