Default No running lights no dash (read thread please)

Ok, This has been such a pain in my ***!

i have a 2003 Ford E350 ambulance converted into a flatbed. when I purchased it the non of the running lights worked. turn signals front and back worked good, just no runners.

I messed with it and replaced brake switch, multi switch, fuses if needed and found a bad short here and there.

Long story short I fixed the problem with no running lights......I got the one on the flatbed to work as well as tail lights but then no turn signals worked.

Now I am back to square one......turn signals work again but no running lights! Im thinking its a ground some place but figured I need to ask for help. I need to get this back out there and make some money!

Any help would be appreciated...I assume I am missing something simple!

As an ambulance, it should have had an opening in the back of the cab to access the inside of the ambulance body. If this is what you have you might look for a wiring plug behind the driver's seat that might have been used to provide lighting for the body which could include the tail lights and other body lights. Maybe someone cut the wrong wire when removing the ambulance body.
Some ambulances had a console that had all the switches for all lighting controls that was placed in front of the front seat for driver control. You might look around there for some quick removal where a particular wire was overlooked.

ok, I have been through this for a few weeks. I have plug ins (harnesses) behind the seat and some of it has to do with that idle box thats under the seat. and plenty of harnesses in the front.

Am I just looking for a cut wire? This whole van I am pretty sure has been re wired...and that is part if the problem because the are everywhere.

Just to be clear when I first purchased it everything worked except to running lights on trailer and no tail lights. Then I got to the point where all the running lights worked but no brake lights or turn signals.

Now I am back to point A.....no running lights or tail lights.

would it still be a cut wire that I am missing? I cant get them all to work at the same time but they work separately.

Thanks for the help hanky...im be at it again tomorrow! I just feel like I'm not having luck with this! I also replaced the turn signal relay and that fixed the double time turn signals in the front.

Do you think it could be a relay? I checked all of them but I seen a relay tester and sometimes it can seem like a good relay but it isnt!

And just a quick edit, On both turn signal assembly's in the front the people before me have the running light wire cut on each one, so they only work when you signal a turn.

Bobby, I wish I could be more help to you, but it appears you will have to start from the beginning and correct one problem at a time.
Some ambulances used the running lights on the front for emergency flashing and evidently when they removed the emergency lighting set up they left the wires as they were.
What this will require at minimum is a test light and with that you will be able to determine which wires have power when the parking lights are turned on and then provide that power to the running lights.. What is helpful is a set 2 or 3 of jumper wires to make temporary connections and connect as you go. To someone that does this everyday it is easy, but if you are not familiar working with wiring it can produce a challenge. If you are not sure of what you are doing , best to leave this to someone that is comfortable doing electrical work.
