Default darwin award!!

Darwin Awards...And I think we just may have a winner...!
The following attempt at a crime spree in Washington State appeared to be the robber's first (and last), due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices:

1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms, a gun shop specializing in handguns.

2. The shop was full of customers - firearms customers.

3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police car parked at the front door.

4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work.

Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a .22 target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, the police officer with a 9mm Glock 17, the clerk with a .50 Desert Eagle, assisted by several customers who also drew their guns, several of whom also fired.

The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons.

No one else was hurt in the exchange of fire.

Slightly off- The store is right, the police car was their, the cop, a twelve year member of the force was their, but this is where it changes- he had a .32 semiauto, the cop had a glock 9mm, and the clerk had a ( I beleve) 10mm. the cop and the clerk were the only ones to fire, although several customers had and drew hand guns but did not fire them. the robber was hit seven times, and died before the ambulance got there. not quite as increadable, but really just as stupid and the same outcome. He really deserves that award.

I've heard both versions of the story, and am inclined to believe the second version, however the first is obviously the more interesting of the two (if you can call 1 less interesting than either...)

Man, you guys don't even want to think about the [sm=bs.gif] we have to put up with here in Canada...I mean, some damn white collar sob decided that "Gun Control" means that we have to register every single firearm in the gd country...this technically is a non-issue because every single gun that is bought or sold has to be registered and the buyer have a PAL (Posession and Aquisition licence) or a POL (Posession Only license) which means that during the sale, both the ID number on the license and the number on the gun is recorded and sent to the Goverment. The only firearms that should technically be unregistered therefor are those brought into the country illegally...and to be quite honest, I'm not sure that a guy who's gonna roll a 7/11 is gonna be concerned with registering his illegally procured weapon w/ the Canadian Goverment before he does it...it just don't make sense...I figure it's to make all 'em white collars feel safer...personally, I think that Texas and a few other places down south have it right...allowed to carry a concealed weapon...I'm not going to rob someone who I think may have a gun...it's just not smart...and the crime statistics prove it...I'm quoting one of my teachers when I say, "the only dangerous part on the gun is the one who's holding it, if they are irresponsable, they are dangerous...without the one holding the gun, it's just a hunk of iron..." Anyways, enough on that...

They can carry a gun but not concealed without a permit.

CA you can only carry with a permit loaded. Else you have to carry the gun unloaded and in a vehicle, the gun has to be inside the car and the bullets have to be in the truck. Or the other way as long as they are seperated.

I live in Texas and don't have a termit to carry it conceiled. About the only time I can see carry it, would be like what happened in New Orleans. I'd carry it outside my clothing, in a holster, clips seprate from gun. I it would be one of my very cheapest guns, because even if it not illegal, the cops are going to take it from you. This way if the stop you they can see your not a menice to them [sm=patriot.gif]

Well to be honest , I dont have a permit , just never got around to it , But I allways have a loaded 357 mag. been stopped several times , they never had a reason to search the car . An when I took the Scooter out it was allways in the saddlebag,, had to pull it out once , there was a car flying down the rode swerving back an forth horn blowing , there was some guy hanging off the hood holding on the back of it , his ole lady was driving , her face was all busted up where he had pounded her, An another car stopped , The guy jumped off the car an reached in the window grabbed her by the hair , screaming Iam going to kill you , I fired off a round in the ground, got his attention real quick , the other car , the lady had called 911, I held him at bay till the cops showed up, slid the pistol in my jacket an jumped on the scoot an rode ....

well, never had it that bad, but there've been a few times when i've been glad to have my 4 "D" cell Mag-Light...the thing is a lifesaver if you ask me...its big enough and hard enough to discourage some people...mix it w/ my size and I don't usually get into much trouble...

P.S. Ramrod, sounds like a pretty weapon you have yourself...the one I've seen recently and wish to aquire at some point is the Smith&Wesson .500 Magnum...it's a .50 Magnum round for a pistol...5 shot revolver...a beautiful piece of machinery if you ask me ... but yours is just classic...
