Fords are crap, Really.

I once owned a 93 taurus, transmission problems were endless not to mention the engine blowing out quicker then those candles i bought at bath and body.

I now own, 2003 taurus ses, Replaced transmission after 10,000 miles of owning it, never missed a check up, tune up, u name it.

Now I have come to the conclusion that fords are ****ty cars, 20 years later and even the newer models have the same infamous tranmission problems

seems to me american cars are ****, Im switching to jap makes soon. **** ford

I would have to agree with you mostly. I'm a big chevy person and love my import tuners. The thing to keep in mind is:

a: every car has it's mechanical strengths and weaknesses
b: judging a make by one model isn't completely accurate.

For instance, ford transmissions are known for problems, but so are Chevy ignition and fuel systems, particularly on 90s camaros (I owned one, it was a PITA but sooooo fast).

However, I agree, Fords fall under the less reliable spectrum of vehicle makes. BUT, there are always the gems out there with any make. :) Better luck with another make. :)

Blazz81: I think Huck has a point. By the way, since you had that many vehicles I guess the 81 in your name refers to your age? I have a lot of respect for older people.;)

Regard the thread title:

Well, everyone has an opinion, just like they have a---oles, one may have just a bit more to recommend it than another, and perhaps not.

I won't mention my own preferences, unless asked to do so. imp

I was going to just pass by this one but after thinking about it a little I realize I do have a little something to say. Looking out my window I see a 94 Lexus here for an engine rebuild, a 96 Taurus for a transmission, an 05 Windstar needing an EGR valve, an 01 LaSaber needing a lower intake gasket, a 99 Astro for wheel bearings and an ignition module, an 02 Cavalier for a head gasket, a Civic with a harmonic balancer that fell off, and more coming daily.
With the technological advancements we are capable of it makes sense we could build something to last longer. But we also have to realize how money hungry everyone seems to be too. Make it to last and sell no parts or services. Also, anything man made is bound to break eventually. All we can really do is find something to get from point A to point B and back again until the next one is needed.
