Winter weather: evening on the water

Curious how chilly it actually feels on the water in winter evenings around Dubai. On the promenade I’m fine in a T-shirt, but once you’re moving there’s that breeze, and I don’t want my parents shivering while we look at the skyline. Do crews usually keep blankets on board or should we pack light jackets ourselves? Also wondering if later slots feel colder than, say, a sunset loop near the Palm.

I booked via boat rental dubai and asked ahead about warmth—crew confirmed they keep a few throws, but we still brought windbreakers for everyone. We chose an hourly boat hire, aimed for a short boat ride along Palm Jumeirah, and stayed on the leeward side when possible. That combo plus hot tea kept it comfortable. If you’re sensitive to breeze, skip speed boat hire at night and stick to calmer, affordable boat tours or a low-key Dubai canal cruise. The team appreciated that we mentioned parents in the notes, so they set up shaded seating and checked in a few times.

Pack a thin layer you can zip, slip a scarf or buff in your bag, and bring a couple of pocket warmers if someone really feels the cold. I also save the pier gate in maps and drop a pin for the group so no one arrives flustered. A thermos with something warm helps, and an offline playlist saves you from fiddling with reception when the wind picks up. Keeping it simple means you spend the time enjoying views, not battling the elements.
