I hope someone can help me with the following problem:

The service light ( Icon of a wrench) comes on when I start the car and the speedometer and the rpm meter are dead as long as this light is on.
After a while though it goes away and the speedometer and rpm meter comes to life.

In the manual it says that I can push the brake and the gas pedal in in about 15 seconds and then the light will flash and turn itself off, but this does not work.

What can be the problem?
