1984 Ford UT-740 Utility Trailer For Sale
 

Rare 1984 Ford UT-740 Utility Trailer - trailer has just gotten a frame up reconditioning complete with original paint color. Great to tow behind any small vehicle or good sized motorcycle! Trailer body is stamped steel.
Includes: spare tire, original Ford owner's manual, sales brochure and original trailer bed liner (like Ford installed in their car trunks).

Thanks for the additional photos. Looks like you did a fantastic restoration job. I have one of these trailers and a friend wants one, but $4000 is way out of his budget. I will show him the photos today and see if he changes his mind.
I found mine at a yard sale for $250, but then I added two more 4"tail lights, built a complete new wiring harness and painted it to match my Harley. These trailers pull great.
Now if you don't mind, could you take a photo of the lock from the inside and outside, the lock had been taken out when I purchased it and I am trying to get something that will work to unlatch the latch. So far I have a makeshift lock that works but you have to have the key in it every time. The latch works fine, but the lock system I have leaves a lot to be desired.

I received this replay from Ajax Trailers concerning these trailers, I believe that mine was not sold thru ford but actuall came from Ajax after they were discontinued. Looks like you definately have a more rare one than I do.

I know that it was produced between in the mid 80’s for only a couple years through a joint venture with another company. They were discontinued and Ajax bought the remaining inventory of a few hundred units which we sold for the next 5 or 6 years. U-Haul purchased a bunch for there Michigan stores. Some replacement items are still available, such as the carpets inside, key latches, and a handful of other items only. The trailer has a payload of 740 lbs. and I believe it has a cargo capacity of 40 cubic feet. It’s a GREAT Trailer, I have one myself.

I'll take pictures & post next week - headed out of town tomorrow. We picked the trailer up on FL and it was all original complete with the owner's manual & original sales brochure you can see in one of the pictures I posted. These trailers seem to be pretty rare from what I can tell - - figured maybe a Ford classic car enthusiast might be interested in it - I use it to take my "toys" between NY & FL but now that it is all restored I hate to use it to haul stuff.
