Default Metal "chirp" sound?

Hi all. I own a 2009 Ford Escape XLT V6 with 66k miles. I know this general topic has dozens of threads, but none of them seem to be about the specific sound I am hearing.

When I first accelerate, I will hear a quick metal-on-metal "chirping" sound. Sometimes it replicates when the car hard-shifts into 2nd gear (automatic). It isn't a belt sound, but it does seem like it comes from the engine bay. I guess it sounds as if you made a quick, low-pitched whistle with your mouth. It doesn't seem to hinder the performance at all. Just wondering if anyone else here has had this sound and correctly diagnosed/fixed it?

Thank you,
Griffin

If you can, take a look under the front of the vehicle and there are 2 axles that transmit power to the wheels. These axles have a flexible joint at each end. Check if one of the rubber boots may have split and allowed grease to get slung around. If everything looks OK , that would hopefully eliminate the CV Joints on the axles.
