Please help.
 

Hi my name is Mark and i have a little problem. I took my engine to what several people told me was one of the best in the country. I have a 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 fastback. Anyway i have made sure to have all the original parts up till now! After getting my engine back (with a good some of $) from a complete rebuild and being broke in as soon as it started it leaked oil on the drive the size of a football within 5 min. So i take it out and back to the machine shop . Get it back after another week and drive it 10 miles . Leaking everywhere..same thing. It's leaking fro m the heads , the freeze plugs, the crank in the rear (badly there) just a mess. Take it out and when i go to pick it up he shows me a pic of my crank that he has had etched. Grooves put into the crank where the neoprene seal rides. Please tell me what you think about that. Also he put my dipstick in the wrong area. Mine goes through the gen.bracket. he put it outside and broke the dip tube off in the timing cover. He came to the house to try and fix but made it worse when he tried to tapp it out. he now has metal filings in the oil pan. I tore the front of the block apart and oil pan to clean oil out and drill the dip tube. Winner!!! i am now going to bill him for that as he is the last person after 3 failed attemps that was going to work on it agian. But please help with crankshart striations, dont see how this will last. Thanks Mark

Being he added the serrated/grooves this was an aftermarket crank? Line bored or?

If its leaking coolant from the heads and freeze plugs, broken parts, metal allowed to drop into the pan, the shop must not be a quality builder.

Generally the crank grooving pulls oil away from the seal area, but if their too deep they can cause a leak, seal installed wrong (over use of sealant) or could be leaking from the bearing cap end seals or mating surface etc. They can be a tad tricky to seal, but if this builder can't install a freeze plug without a leak? Any pictures?

A weeping seal is one thing, but a football size puddle if 5?!

Thanks for the help Hayapower. I have only just got it up and running yesterday afternoon. I think i have 2 miles on it LOL. It's a little hard to be taking the toys out and playing because i live in Portland . So it rains alot. I guess now time will tell if it leakes.
