Race: Big Block vs Small Block bigblock everytime
in my t bird (full size car) with a 429 2bbl and a half blown c6 I raced a 96 mustang 5 L all done up with the 5 spd into town off rolling start. he floored it first then me and after my car finally shifted I pulled away at about 85 mph + , between lights.
I had to stop for gas right after cause I was almost on fumes and he pulled into a store not far from me, so I drove over after I filled up and talked to him, told me what he had done to his car, which was a fair bit, and that I was the first one to beat his mustang. thats my story among others. what are your experiences? or comments, questions or criticisms? |
oh yeah to add its a 79 t-bird with a 69 429
|
the big block is going to win every time...they just make more power. now the sb 302 can kick out impressive numbers but you gotta know where to find the power. hows that 429 holdin up? they like to rust up from time to time.
|
Its Holdin up great put it in the car a couple of years ago, it was sitting with oil in it and iw was covered in grease, so I just had to clean it up and its running like a champ.
that engine stock in 69 was rated at 390HP and 470 ft/lbs, it is a beast |
sweet. what you got done to it?
|
I got nothin done to it yet, just a couple of fresh parts, the tranny rebuild, and the 2bbl carb off the 302 that was in it. once i have the money to burn I have about a $2000 list of goodies I want for it, then i'll be running it down the strip
