Hi folks, newby here. My wife and I just bought a 1982 F-250 that has had a lot of custom work done to it. It was converted to a duelly, has a boered 302 with headers, cam, and some internal engine work done. Only thing they didn't do was change the 4 speed . It has the granny gear, which we don't use, and a huge shift pattern. I would like to replace the transmission with a regular or normal 4 speed with a closer shift patter and a first gear we can use. Nope, never going to haul anything with it, so don't need that granny gear. Would any of you folks have any ideas about what type or year 4 speed would work. Thanks for any help you can give me. Been a lotta year since I've done this type of work so I'm a little ( a lot ) rusty.
