90 Taurus tranny to a 94 Taurus?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site. I'm looking to buy a 1994 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 (not SHO) with a "little" leaky transmission.

I have a 1990 Ford Taurus LX 3.0 V6 (not SHO) that needs much body work, but the engine and transmission are in excellent condition.

 Can I swap the 1990 transmission to the 1994 Taurus?

Thanks, Rolf

I know your looking for an answer, but I don't have one. My guess is that it will.
The car look to be same base platform and engine configuration. Your just dropping your engine and tranny into a new body. Check mount location and style, if they are the same, go for it.

RE: 90 Taurus tranny to a 94 Taurus?

Sorry for the late reply but a transmission from a 90 tarus will NOT work in a 94 due to the plug in for the transmission. The 90 requires 2 plugs and the 94 only requires 1 plug and also the electronics is differant inside from one another. So to be to the point of your question they WILL NOT interchange.:)
