99 escort zx2 changed fluid and gasket now when you put it in reverse it goes forward and when you put it indrive it goes backwards please tell me it is a simple prblem

 

If all you did was change the fluid, this should not have happened. Also, if it was that simple to make this happen it should be just as simple to reverse it to make things normal.

That said, I can't think of anything that you could have done either accidentally or on purpose to change the shift pattern.

When you changed the fluid, did you remove ANYTHING other than the pan and filter?
