Passenger window not working
I have a problem I can't trace down. My passenger side window stops working after one/two uses. I remove the motor and cycle it through and everything seems to be fine. Then I reinstall it and the window works once or twice and stays in the up position.
I don't see any limit switches or the like on it, but I may be missing something. Any thoughts on what's going on?

Have checked to make sure panel/switch control voltage is still being applied to the regulator motor? No drop outs.
The motors are polarity reversed for up/down functions, Checking at the motor connector should prove out voltage loss, or the motor itself...

Checked voltage at the connector to the window motor: ~12V+ in one direction, ~12V- in the other direction. Shook the wires in the harness and all seemed ok. Just looking to see if anyone else had run into this and their possible solution. It's probably time to examine the whole harness on this score.

Next time it quits working, hold the switch in the needed direct while giving the door a hardy thump with the palm of your hand near the motor location, if it functions, its the motor..
The other check would be to have a test light piggybacked into the motor connector, if the window fails up/down (depending on which way it’s polarity is set) and voltage never is lost or dropped out, proves of power distribution to the motor.
Both the master panel switch, as well as the passenger switch fail to operate the regulator?
Sometimes wires will break in the door jamb, but the test light install would prove out weather or not power distribution is lost be it swithed control, or an intermittent open in the harness in real time..

Both the master switch and the passenger door switch fail to operate the motor.
When I remove the motor, both switches operate the motor in both directions. I can cycle the motor endlessly when it's removed. After I reinstall it, it works a couple of times and then quits. It's as though the motor over-extends and then gets stuck there. It always sticks in the up position. I'm leaning towards the motor, but I don't know what turns the motor off when the window reaches its travel limits. I'd like to check that first. Might there be a limit switch in the circuit somewhere?
I like the method of thumping the door. Sometimes the simplest things are best.
