2003 Windstar Door Alignment

Hi I have a 03 Windstar with manual doors all the way around, my doors appear to be 1/4 inch or less out of alignment. Dealer says it is a minor adjustment, to the tune of $90.00. Any ideas

RE: 2003 Windstar Door Alignment

I'm a lil late with this response, but didn't know if you've gotten the problem fixed yet. $90 is actually not a bad price from a dealership, seeing how ALL doors are out of alignment. However, I do have some concerns:
[ol][*]How can all doors become misaligned 1/4 of an inch or less at the same time?[*]Is the problem within the door hinges or the strikers?[*]If the strikers are the problem, then it appears they either weren't tightened properly during manufacturing, or thebushings have become worn. Your vehicle is only 3 years old, so I wouldn't suspect worn bushings, but if that's thecase, they are very inexpensive, and you can usually purchase them at Lowe's for about 25 cents each. You have to remove the strikers in order to replace the bushings though, and it can be a real pita to get the striker in the correct position for the door to latch securely.[/ol]
Please let us know if you've already corrected this problem.
